The development of the furniture industry in 2012 was relatively stable. From the data from January to December, the growth rate of industrial sales output value of major sub-industries remained at double digits, but the output and economic benefits of major products showed a downward trend.

1. Sales and Exports

From January to December 2012, the industrial sales output value of major sub-industries of the furniture industry continued to grow at a relatively high rate, but the growth rate declined. Among them: the cumulative industrial sales output value of wooden furniture increased by 22.4% year-on-year, down 9.1 percentage points from the same period in 2011; the cumulative industrial sales output value of bamboo and rattan furniture increased by 34.4% year-on-year, up 6.3 percentage points from the same period in 2011; the cumulative industrial sales output value of metal furniture increased by 9.1% year-on-year, down 8.0 percentage points from the same period in 2011; the cumulative industrial sales output value of plastic furniture increased by 23.6% year-on-year, down 1.1 percentage points from the same period in 2011; the cumulative industrial sales output value of other furniture increased by 10.6% year-on-year, down 6.2 percentage points from the same period in 2011. From January to December 2012, the export delivery value of the furniture industry showed a downward trend compared with the same period in 2011, while a few industries showed an increase. The cumulative export delivery value of wooden furniture increased by 8.8% year-on-year, down 1.4 percentage points from the same period in 2011; the cumulative export delivery value of metal furniture increased by 0.8% year-on-year, down 5.9 percentage points from the same period in 2011; the cumulative export delivery value of plastic furniture increased by 17.0% year-on-year, down 4.5 percentage points from the same period in 2011; the cumulative export delivery value of bamboo and rattan furniture increased by 35.0% year-on-year, up 4.6 percentage points from the same period in 2011; the cumulative export delivery value of other furniture increased by 7.0% year-on-year, up 2.6 percentage points from the same period in 2011. In December 2012, the sales output value of wooden furniture, bamboo and rattan furniture, metal furniture, plastic furniture and other furniture in the furniture industry increased by 15.7%, 33.7%, 12.8%, 47.7% and 6.5% year-on-year respectively, and increased by -4.9, 12.1, -1.5, 4.3 and -10.5 percentage points respectively compared with November. The export delivery value of wooden furniture, bamboo and rattan furniture, metal furniture, plastic furniture and other furniture increased by -1.0%, 32.6%, 1.4%, 18.9% and -0.9% year-on-year respectively, and decreased by 2.7, 39.4, 0.1, 20.4 and 6.8 percentage points respectively compared with November. II. Output of major products

From January to December 2012, the output of major products in the furniture industry decreased by 2.4% year-on-year, which was 0.2 percentage points slower than the same period in 2011. Among them: wooden furniture decreased by 2.1% year-on-year, the same as the growth rate in the same period of 2011; metal furniture decreased by 3.6% year-on-year, 0.2 percentage points slower than the same period of 2011; soft furniture increased by 4.5% year-on-year, 0.1 percentage points higher than the same period of 2011. III. Economic Benefits

From January to December, the main business income of the furniture industry increased by 13.8% year-on-year, 14.9 percentage points higher than the same period of 2011; the total profit increased by 19.4% year-on-year, 25.7 percentage points lower than the same period of 2011.
